It’s already August, I don’t even remember what happened in July, but that doesn’t mean we’re ready to close the door on summer quite yet. And thankfully, neither is Applebee’s. For the entire month of August, Applebee’s is going to help you blackout on a budget with $1 Mai Tai cocktails, an island blend of rum, pineapple, passion fruit, orange, black cherry, and lime.
“Tiki cocktails are the hottest drinks of the season,” vice president of beverage innovation Patrick Kirk said in a statement: “Drinking our $1 Mai Tai is like getting whisked away to the South Seas without even having to leave the neighborhood.”
South Seas? Have you been to our local Applebee’s here in Chicago Pat? Your $1 tiki drink isn’t about to instantly transport me to the Bahamas anytime soon, but hey, a buck is a buck. The press release should read:
“Come to Applebee’s and get shitfaced on Mai Tais for less than $10 bucks. You’ll love it.”
Straight to the point. I like that.
