Good sh*t Sunday courtesy of Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson.
The Rock has always been vocal about his love for country music, particularly Cody Jinks, who he has shouted out multiple times on social media. But today, he went even deeper praising artists like Sturgill Simpson, Tyler Childers, Jamey Johnson are others, who he said are keeping the country tradition going.
“Good shit Sunday. As a lifelong fan of country (traditional/outlaw) music, I highly recommend one of my fav artists, Sturgill Simpson. Sturgill, Cody Jinks, Tyler Childers, Stapleton, Jamey Johnson are a few of my favs who would’ve made Jennings, Merle, Paycheck, Cash, Gosdin and the Possum himself very proud to keep the tradition going. If you know, you know. Now jump in that truck and turn em up.”
If you think this is just another celebrity endorsement, you’re missing the bigger picture.
The Rock is one of the biggest stars in the entire world, with an incredibly large following of loyal and engaged fans. When he talks, people listen. And when he shines his massive spotlight on traditional country artists like the aforementioned, artists that deserve that massive spotlight, it’s HUGE for them and the betterment of the genre as a whole.
Just when I thought I couldn’t be a bigger fan of this dude, he proves me wrong… again. Respect.
