According to Nashville News Channel 5, a Tempe, Arizona, man fell to his death when he attempted to jump from one Broadway rooftop bar to another, on the 4th of July. Witnesses said that 22-year-old Gage Schrantz, rushed past security of Mellow Mushroom and up to the roof where he then jumped to AJ’s Good Time Bar and then jumped again to the rooftop of Ernest Tubb Record Shop. From there, he attempted to jump to the roof of Downtown Sporting Club, but he didn’t make it.

“We see this man walking on the rooftop. The next thing we see him jump from that roof to the roof that’s on our building and the next minute I look out the window again and I see him falling between the buildings,” Melissa Diffenderfer said.

Schrantz got a running start to try and clear the 14-foot gap between Ernest Tubb and Downtown Sporting Club, however he fell approximately 50 feet to his death.

According to an employee of another downtown Nashville bar, the man was running to evade bar bouncers.
