Luke Combs Has The #1 Country Album So Far This Year & Nobody Else Is Even In The Same Ballpark

Luke Combs is taking country music by storm.

According to Nielsen Music, Luke Combs’ debut album, This One’s For You, is the most popular country album so far in 2019 and nobody else is even in the same ballpark. If Luke Combs is Wrigley Field, the rest of country music is playing at the shitty park district diamond that’s overrun with weeds, plus it’s missing like 15 feet of outfield fence for some reason, so anytime you shoot a gapper into right center it just keeps rolling and rolling and rolling… oh yeah, and it floods like a motherfucker. A good rain will keep you off of it for a at least 3 days. THAT field.

Baseball analogies aside, Luke is absolutely killing it. So far this year, he has racked up 605,000 albums, based on overall equivalent album units, which is basically a fancy way of taking streaming numbers into account. Dan + Shay’s self-titled album is in a distant second with 387,000 , while Chris Stapleton’s Traveller is in 3rd place at an even farther 292,000.

Luke’s hit single, “Beautiful Crazy,” tops the charts when it comes to total on-demand streams, (audio streams and video streams combined) with 235.7 million and the #1 country audio stream as well, with 148.4 million.
