Chris Young Fights Back The Tears Performing “Drowning” For The First Time

This is what country music is supposed to do. Make you feel something deep down in your soul.

When Chris Young stepped onto that Grand Ole Opry stage to perform his emotional new song “Drowning” for the first time, he was clearly moved by the weight of such a heavy song.

Written for Chris’ friend Adam that passed away, “Drowning” will immediately connect with anybody that’s lost somebody too soon, and connect in an incredibly powerful way. When Chris debuted the new song at the Opry last month, he struggled to make it through, ultimately stopping before the song was finished, overcome with emotion.

It’s real, it’s raw, it’s honest… it’s everything that country music should be.
