Back during the 2017 CMAs, Garth Brooks won the night’s biggest honor – Entertainer of the Year. He also performed on the show and…admitted to lip-syncing. Many fans called out Brooks, and so did some artists, including Eric Church.
When asked about the incident in a 2018 Rolling Stone interview, Eric said:
So the winner of the biggest category of the night lip-synced in the biggest moment on the show? Fuck that! And I didn’t like his excuse at all.
