Sturgill is officially back on the big screen.
Moviegoers got a first look at Queen & Slim, a new film written and produced by Lena Waithe and directed by Melina Matsoukas, when the trailer made its debut at last night’s BET Awards. The film, starring Jodie Turner-Smith and Daniel Kaluuya, tells the story of couple that goes on the run after they shoot and kill a police officer (played by Sturgill Simpson) during a traffic stop gone wrong.
Queen & Slim is set to hit theaters on November 27th.
