Tyler Childers Is Releasing Something New TOMORROW

This is not a drill people.

Yesterday, I stumbled upon a song called “Waylon on my Willie” on a YouTube channel called KO Outdoors Music Station. As far as I could tell, it was an older song, but one that I’ve never heard before, however the most intriguing part of the whole thing was that the words “from the upcoming album” were in the title. This YouTube channel also released a few other unreleased songs we’ve heard before, (“All Your’n,” “Fraulein,” and Tyler’s cover of Pink Floyd’s “Time,”) all of which featured a cartoon Tyler sitting Indian-style with a pipe in his hand. Definitely not new material, but interesting nonetheless.

I ended that article with “to my knowledge, there’s no news on an upcoming album from Tyler, but I’d be more than happy to be wrong about that.”

And, it looks like I was.

Tyler’s official YouTube channel has a countdown set for Thursday, May 16th at 7:00am, featuring that same cartoon Tyler graphic.

Are we going to get some brand new music? Are we going to get some of those unreleased songs he’s been performing live? Is it just an announcement video? Right now, it’s anybody’s guess, but we’re getting something new from Tyler and that’s good enough for me.

Sony Music also has a pre-release signup form available where you can pre-save his new material to your Spotify, Apple Music, or Deezer.

Get fucking excited.
