After you hear a song like this, how can you not get excited for what Riley Green is doing for country music?

This heartfelt new one, “I Wish Grandpas Never Died,” hits home on so many different levels that no matter where you came from, how you grew up, or what’s going on in your life now, you can find something to relate to in it.

“I wish even cars had truck beds and every road was named Copperhead, and coolers never run out of cold Bud Light. I wish high school home teams never lost and back road drinkin’ kids never got caught, I wish the price of gas was low and cotton was high. I wish honky tonks didn’t have no closing time, and I wish grandpas never died.”

But my favorite line?

“I wish country music still got played on country radio.”

Can I get an amen?
