New Study Says A Guy’s Beard Is Dirtier Than A Dog’s Fur

I’d like to think I keep my beard (when it can be considered a beard) pretty damn clean.

This new study has me worried though.

It claims that a man’s beard has more harmful germs than a dog’s fur.

Professor Andreas Gutzeit of Switzerland’s Hirslanden Clinic said, “The researchers found a significantly higher bacterial load in specimens taken from the men’s beards compared with the dogs’ fur.”

I don’t like that…

According to the NY Post:

The researchers took swabs from the scruff of 18 fellas and the necks of 30 canines of various breeds. They found that all of the bearded men, who were aged 18 to 76, had high microbial counts, while only 23 of the 30 dogs showed similarly high microbial presence.

Fellas, if you have a beard and don’t give it its own routine, it’s time to start. I know it’s the last thing you wanna do, but it’s worth it. Clean that nasty thing out, get some good quality beard oil, keep it fresh and not covered in nasty shit.

Don’t let your beard start growing mushrooms before you realize it needs to be cleaned with a pressure washer.
