Keith Whitley and Jim Elliot wrote “Burnt The Sawmill Down” decades ago, but it was never released, or recorded. Whitley tragically died in 1989 following a battle with alcoholism.
On Aaron Lewis’ new album, State I’m In, he was fortunate enough to get the opportunity to record, and release that very song.
