Elite 8 Update: Eric Church Bounces Back Against Alan Jackson, George Strait Takes Lead On Tyler Childers

Yesterday, we were on upset alert as Alan Jackson jumped out to a pretty serious lead over #1 overall seed Eric Church.

But as we said before, anything can happen in this tournament and here we are, a mere 24 hours later, and the tables have completely turned.

At this time yesterday, Eric Church was trailing Alan Jackson by a pretty serious margin. Not a crazy lead, but Eric was in quite the hole. Only two votes separated George Strait and Tyler Childers, 15 votes separated Chris Young and Chris Stapleton and less than 100 separated Luke Combs and Jon Pardi. Neck and neck matchups all the way through, with an all but certain dogfight to the finish.

Now, with almost 85,000 votes in the tournament and less than 12 hours of voting left in the Elite 8, we’re coming down to the wire with big comebacks from just about everybody left in the tournament. Eric Church has a lead on Alan Jackson, albeit a small one, George has jumped out in front of Tyler Childers who will need a late game push to pull off this monster upset, Chris Stapleton has a sizable lead on Chris Young who has led for most of the matchup, and Luke Combs has widened the gap against Jon Pardi.

Like I said, there’s less than 12 hours left to vote in the Elite 8 so keep on voting for your favorite stars to advance to the Final Four. Voting ends at 3:30am tomorrow morning with Final Four voting resuming shortly after, beginning at 5:00am CT.

Remember you can vote every 5 minutes, so keep them coming. Much like this past weekend’s Elite 8, we’re in for a thrilling finish.
