Luke Combs found out yesterday morning that he’s taking home the ACM award for New Male Artist of the Year thanks to a surprise phone call from Carrie Underwood.
“I was over here toasting my breakfast and I’m now on the phone with Carrie Underwood winning an ACM.”
No disrespect to the other nominees, but as a nominee in the Male Artist of the Year category as well, Luke had to be a shoe-in for New Male Artist of the Year. Still, Luke seemed pretty surprised that he won. Dude is just making a toaster strudel and gets a call from Carrie Underwood… helluva way to start the day.
The ACM Awards will air live from Las Vegas on April 7th.
