Chicago’s Own Gino’s East Pizza Is Coming To Nashville

I’ve lived in Chicago for the past 12 years, and I can undoubtedly tell you that Chicago-style deep dish pizza is a work of art.

It’s more like a lasagna than the pizza you’re used to, but who’s here to make rules about what is, and what isn’t, pizza? Nashville sure as shit is pretty loose with the rules when it comes to what is, and isn’t, considered country music, so why stop now.

While Gino’s isn’t quite the best deep-dish in Chicago, it’s up there, and I don’t really know what kind of pizza there is in Nashville, let’s be honest, this is a dream come true for that city. The restaurant will partner with The Comedy Bar stand-up comedy venue located at 311 3rd Ave. S. According to the Tennessean, the official opening will be 4 p.m. March 14. To celebrate National Pi Day on opening day, Gino’s East will offer a $3.14 combo special of a slice of thin crust cheese pizza and a can of Old Style beer for the first 100 guests. The restaurant will also host a pizza eating contest and the winner will receive free pizza for a year.

And, an Old Style? Well shit…

If you’re not excited, you should be.
