The NASCAR Awards Are Coming To Nashville In 2019

NASCAR and Nashville? I’m already drunk just thinking about it.

NASCAR announced today that they’re bringing their Monster Energy Cup Series Awards ceremony to Music City in 2019. The weeklong festivities, which have been held in Las Vegas since 2009, will be held December 5 at Music City Center in downtown Nashville.

“This year, we set a course to look at everything we do through a different lens, including how we celebrate the champions of our sport,” said Steve Phelps, NASCAR President. “Nashville’s energy, vibrant entertainment scene, and deep-rooted lineage in motorsports informed our decision and we believe our fans and industry will embrace the move to the Music City.”

This move isn’t unexpected, with NASCAR announcing late last year that the series would be returning to Nashville’s fairgrounds speedway.

It’s going to be a big year for sports in Nashville, with the city also hosting the 2019 NFL Draft late next month. Now we just need the Stanley Cup Finals back, although I don’t think my liver wouldn’t be able to handle it.
