Old Dominion lead singer Matt Ramsey fell off the stage late last year, breaking his leg. When Matt had surgery in February, the recovery time was going to force them to cancel some shows, including RodeoHouston, so naturally they had to come up with Plan B.
Enter the infamous guitar throne of Foo Fighters front man Dave Grohl.
“So many jokes were thrown around about using Dave Grohl’s throne, finally we just decided to ask and see what happened,” Ramsey told PEOPLE. “I’m sure Dave didn’t know that when he created this thing, everyone would want to use it. But, it has been an honor to sit on, and more importantly, it’s allowing us to keep the show on the road. Our fans are truly grateful. We owe him big for that.”
Dave broke his leg after falling off the stage back in 2015 and constructed the guitar throne so he could continue to tour. Since then, it has served Dave, along with Guns N’ Roses frontman Axl Rose, and now, Old Dominion who fitted it with their signature “OD” logo.
