Wait, Reba Turned Down A Role in the Movie ‘Titanic’?

This blew my mind.

In a recent interview with Andy Cohen, Reba revealed that she was offered the role of Molly Brown in the 1997 blockbuster Titanic. You know the one where Leo drowns in the freezing cold ocean because Kate Winslet wouldn’t make room on that door.

The only reason she turned it down? She was on tour.

“We were on tour and I had a lot of people on the payroll, and we had these three months already scheduled to do the movie. Then they got behind on scheduling and said, ‘No, we’re going to have to move it in this time.’ So we couldn’t reschedule all the arenas and everything.”

Reba admits that turning down the role “killed her” after she saw how big the movie became.

I can imagine how hard it was for Reba to turn down a part in what would become one of the biggest movies of all time… but props to her for taking care of her people first.
