Country Metal Band Releases Incredible Cover Of John Anderson’s “Seminole Wind”

Before you balk at that title, let me say that when I first heard “country metal band” I didn’t know what to expect. In any given day, I’ll get hundreds of emails from teams and new artists. It takes a lot to stand out.

These guys stood out.

You have something very different in Cody Parks and The Dirty South. They describe themselves as “Def Leppard on cornbread” which is funny, but surprisingly accurate.

You may remember a viral post of ours from 2017, where metal band All That Remains covered Garth Brooks’ “The Thunder Rolls.” Honestly, I’m loving this “Seminole Wind” cover more. They took a John Anderson classic, made it their own, without disrepectiong the original. Not easy to do.

They also have a new single titled “The Other Side” which you can check out on Spotify.

The band has been together for a couple of years, but they had a setback a year ago when one of the guitar players was shot during a robbery attempt. Last week on the anniversary of the shooting, they announced a new project called Live from the Emergency Room. More from that will be announced soon.

Oh, and I love their artwork.
