New Study Says Chemical In McDonald’s Fries May Cure Baldness

A red cup with french fries in it

Nothing compares to McDonald’s fries. Nothing.

I don’t really care what’s in them – I know it’s bad. Keep it to a minimum and I’m good. But, what if that hairline is receding a bit? What if you’re a guy out there with his hair falling out faster than you can keep up with? No amount of Biotin is helping your situation, so where do you turn?

Dare I say more McDonald’s fries?

A new study published by Science Daily suggests that dimethylpolysiloxane, the chemical used in McDonald’s fries to prevent the oil from frothing, is able to mass-produce “hair follicle germs” in mice. WLWT mentions that hair regenerative medicine has been frustrated by the difficulty of producing large masses of HFGs, but the dimethylpolysiloxane preparation allowed scientists to create up to 5,000 HFGs simultaneously.

This initial study was done in Japan, and only for mice, but Professor Junji Fukuda, of Yokohama National University (who ran the study), thinks this is huge news for bald heads out there.

Dimethylpolysiloxane is silicone-based, which is freaky, but hey, maybe it will make your hair come back. Stay tuned…
