It Took Four Police Officers and an Oatmeal Cream Pie to Catch a Chicken in Downtown Nashville

“Insert joke about the chicken crossing the road here.”

A chicken roaming the streets in downtown Nashville managed to give police officers a hell of a chase Thursday. After blocking traffic in the Gulch, the chicken managed to make it to the sidewalk where she continued to evade the four officers on her trail.

Police were finally able to capture the suspect fowl when an officer broke out his snack stash and lured the chicken in using a Little Debbie oatmeal cream pie.

According to Metro Police, officers “confirmed the chicken did not have an Uber account or other mode of transportation” and turned the hen over to Metro Nashville Animal Care and Control to be re-homed – hopefully somewhere that it will stay out of the road.

In a town famous for its hot chicken, it’s probably best that she stays locked up anyway.
