An unnamed man in Colorado was jogging in Fort Collins when he was suddenly attacked from behind by a mountain lion. As the man turned around, the animal lunged and bit him in the face and wrist, before the dude’s survival instincts kicked in.
The guy was able to break free and strangle/suffocate the mountain lion to death with his bare hands.
The runner has serious injuries, but they are not life threatening.
“The runner did everything he could to save his life,” Mark Leslie, Colorado Parks and Wildlife’s northeast regional manager, said. “In the event of a lion attack you need to do anything in your power to fight back just as this gentleman did.”
