A while back, he stopped by Tootsies on Broadway and surprised the crowd by hopping up on stage and performing. Admittedly hammered, Post took the stage with two Bud Lights in one hand, a cigarette in the other, and laid down a few covers of some country classics.
“Y’all caught a very drunken Post Malone, and the boys are tellin’ me we’re playin’ “Move It On Over.” Play that shit gentleman.”
He performed Hank Williams’ “Move It On Over,” Elvis Presley’s “That’s Alright Mama,” and Merle Haggard’s hit “Mama Tried.”
Pretty damn impressive. Even if you hate Post Malone’s music, you have to admit that he probably knows more about classic country than half of the artists charting on country radio right now.
“Just to let ya’ll know, I canceled my show tomorrow to do this with you tonight. These are the realest motherfuckers in the fucking word, I’m too drunk to remember any words from any of these songs, the whole band keep kickin’ ass, lets shred some fucking shit!”
