For my money, when it comes to face-melting, full-throttle, down home, rock and roll country music, nobody does it better than Cody Cannon and the boys from Whiskey Myers.
The Texas country band kicked off their Die Rockin’ Tour this past weekend, which also happens to be the name of their new album, which ALSO happens to feature a song of the same name. And, the inspiration? None other than Mr. Badass himself, Ray Wylie Hubbard.
“This is the title track off the new record. I wrote this song for my good friend, Mr. Ray Wylie Hubbard.”
It’s going to be a good year.
