Cody Johnson Lays Down Flawless Acoustic Cover Of Roger Miller’s “Husbands & Wives”

This is some damn country music.

Originally written and recorded by Roger Miller in 1966, “Husbands and Wives” was later released by Brooks & Dunn in 1998. It went #1 on the Billboard Hot Country chart in just 3 short months.

“This is a Roger Miller tune that Brooks & Dunn recut, that was the first version that I’ve ever heard was Brooks & Dunn. Later, as I got older, I went back and found Roger, I’m a huge Roger Miller fan, I thought he was one of the coolest writers of all time.”

Much like Cody, Brooks and Dunn’s version was the first time I heard this song as well, but no matter which artist this song takes you back to, Cody’s cover can stand with the best of them. Cody also recorded it for his brand new album Ain’t Nothin’ To It, available everywhere.
