The Brewers will rename Miller Park after the 2020 season, as American Family Insurance will take over naming rights with a 15-year deal.
MillerCoors has a brewery located one mile from the stadium. They committed $41.2 million for the naming rights in 1996.
“This is a relationship with a very sophisticated Fortune 500 company that will widen our brand and it’s a collaboration between two dynamic companies with a passion for sports in our community,” Brewers CEO Rick Schlesinger said.
Brewers fans are pissed.
So far over 30,000 fans have signed a petition to leave the park’s name unchanged.
