Blake Shelton Silences The Room With Emotional Performance Of “Over You” In Honor Of Troy Gentry

Powerful stuff.

During last night’s benefit in honor of Troy Gentry, Blake Shelton hit the Opry stage with a powerful performance of “Over You,” the song he wrote for his late brother, which went on to be cut by his then-wife, Miranda Lambert.

Prior to the performance, he talked about the time he played it for Troy Gentry.

“We were just playing songs back and forth, Troy didn’t know that the song was about my brother and it really hit him hard. He wasn’t crying or anything, but he was just beside himself a little bit.”

Shelton then, with just an acoustic guitar, brought the entire building to a stand still when he performed the heartbreaking song.
