Long before the goofy outfits and collaborations that pissed off legions of country fans, there was this FGL just starting out.

They’re still over-accessorized, but we can give them a pass there. In this video from eight years back, the guys sing one of their first fan-favorites, “Country In My Soul,” at a bar in St. Louis.

Oh, how things have changed since. Their new album titled, Can’t Say I Ain’t Country, had plenty of people losing their marbles on social media, because as you know a lot of people say they aren’t country (esp. after breaking records with Bebe Rexha). Here’s a look at what it was like before one of the most polarizing acts in country music got famous.
