Midland Honor Burt Reynolds With Cover Of “East Bound & Down”

Love me some Smokey and the Bandit.

As a tip of the hat to the late, great Burt Reynolds, Midland just released a cover of “East Bound and Down,” the theme song from the film Smokey and the Bandit. The song was originally recorded by country music hall of famer Jerry Reed in 1977.

As lead singer Mark Wystrach says, “If you’re gonna try to cover one of your heroes, you better make sure it meets the mark,” and I’d say they nailed it.

Go behind the scenes with Midland at the Country Music Hall of Fame.
