Game of Thrones, The Wire, The Sopranos, HBO has a knack for creating some of the best shows of all time. And, Deadwood is near the top of that list.
The drama ran for three seasons and 36 episodes, racking up 28 Emmy Award nominations and winning eight, but ever since the show’s end in 2006, fans have been begging for more. That prayer was answered when HBO programming president Casey Bloys said that they would be shooting a Deadwood movie, with filming to begin in October. And, who has been a part of that filming?
None other than country music’s own Jason Isbell.
I’m getting up early tomorrow to be in a movie and I’m super excited about it but do the wardrobe people have socks? My socks would NOT work for this movie and I’m concerned. The movie is not about socks though. But still they might show.
In a few Instagram posts, Jason shared that he was on set, filming for the movie alongside William Earl Brown, Sean Mackenzie Bridgers, and Garret Dillahunt. This comes shortly after Isbell’s involvement with the critically-acclaimed film A Star Is Born.
Looks like his buddy Sturgill Simpson isn’t the only one getting into the acting business.
