Whitey Morgan’s ‘Hard Times And White Lines’ Is Honky Tonk Heaven

When it comes to gritty, in your face, boot stompin’, old fashioned, blue collar, meat and potatoes, real deal, honky tonk country music… nobody does it better than Whitey Morgan.

His highly-anticipated album Hard Times and White Lines dropped today and to say that it’s fucking amazing would be an understatement. If you like everything that makes country music great, I’m talking heartache, hard livin’ and a whole lot of that beautiful steel guitar, you’re going to love this record. Self-produced and recorded at Sonic Ranch Studios in Tornillo, Texas, the new album features collaborations with stellar songwriters like Travis Meadows and Ward Davis and, of course, Morgan’s badbass band, the 78’s.

With a full album review to come, here’s a few of my early favorites.

“Bourbon and the Blues”

“Around Here”

“Tired Of The Rain”
