Thomas Rhett Becomes First Country Artist To Top The Billboard 200 Album Chart This Year

Give it up for country music people.

Thomas Rhett’s third studio album Life Changes just became the first country album to top the Billboard All-Genre 200 album chart.

According to Billboard, Rhett “earned 123,000 equivalent album units in the week ending Sept. 14, according to Nielsen Music. Of that sum, 94,000 were in traditional album sales, Rhett’s best sales week and the third largest sales week of 2017 for a country effort.” The last country record to do so was Jason Aldean‘s They Don’t Know, which hit No. 1 late last year.

It’s good to see country music back on top.

Whiskey Riff is the most entertaining country site…ever.
