Kenny Chesney’s Vacation Home Destroyed By Hurricane Irma, Starts Foundation To Help Others

God bless Kenny.

Kenny has been in love with islands for a long time and although his vacation house on the US Virgin Island of St. John was destroyed, Kenny is doing everything he can to help out.

Chesney wasn’t there, but offered up his home to friends to use as a shelter during the storm.

“My house was, we thought, a very safe place for everyone because it was built with stone, concrete,  bricks in an area of the island where we didn’t feel like we were going to get a direct wind. So I felt like if they went downstairs it would be a very safe place,” he tells HLN’s Robin Meade. “I had 200MPH wind-tested windows throughout my house, and every window in the house just blew out, so these people were really scared,” he adds. “They found more shelter in a big closet and were in that closet for a long time, and they made it. Luckily, a lot of people made it.”

Chesney has already established a foundation called the Love for Love City Foundation, to help out the victims of Hurricane Irma. Watch the full interview below.
