An Open Letter To The Girl That Has No Idea What She’s Doing With Her Life

If you are like me, you’ve always had a plan.

You’ve had your entire future planned out. College. Career. Love. You’ve always thought you had everything in line. Instead, life pretty much laughs in your face and changes every plan you ever had. Just like that, you go from 100% prepared for life to absolutely clueless. While all your friends are getting their dream jobs and getting married, you are questioning your career choice, love life, and basically every decision you have ever made.

If you are in this place in your life, there are a few things you should know.

You are NOT the only one feeling lost.

Trust me when I say that you are not the only person who has no idea what they are doing. In all honestly, most people don’t have their lives put together, no matter how perfect their Instagram may seem. While one person is stressing about their career, another person is worried about their love life. Don’t ever feel like you are the only one feeling lost, because nothing is farther from the truth.

Just because others have it figured out, doesn’t mean you have to.

Your life is your life. Your best friend got married at 22? Good for her! That doesn’t mean that you are behind schedule. There is no timeline that your life has to follow. There is no set of guidelines that you have to stick to. You get to write your own story!

This is the time to find yourself.

Take advantage of this time! You thought you knew what made you happy before, but somewhere along the way, that changed. Use this time to find out what you actually want out of life. Take a class! Go on a trip! Just go out and do something new. You never know, it could lead to the path you are meant to be on.

It is 100% okay to be clueless.

I repeat: It is 100% okay to be clueless. There is absolutely nothing wrong with not having a plan. Don’t ever feel bad about not having your future planned out. Sometimes, it just takes a little time and life experience to figure it out. So stop worrying, go out, and enjoy life! The pieces will all fall into place.
