Growing up in the Chicago suburbs, I always loved sports and so did all of my girlfriends.
It’s taught me that we make the best girlfriends, so here is why.
She loves beer.
Even if she didn’t love it to start, she had to learn to love it. Beer often goes hand in hand with sporting events. You can’t order a vodka cranberry or glass of wine at a sports bar or game without looking like an idiot.
She’ll get along with the guys.
I could just end it right here, but she already has plenty in common with you and your boys. No need to give up time with the guys when she can come with. Plus, it will make you two closer and her closer to your friends. It’s a win-win.
She’s competitive and fun.
She has a competitive side which can make any relationship more exciting. Maybe she’ll make a bet with you to keep things interesting or be the best beer pong partner ever.
She knows what she’s talking about.
Girls who truly love sports don’t Google the team an hour before the game and cram, they already know everything they need to know. No need to worry about her being fake because she’s the real deal and is truly passionate about the game.
She won’t mind going to or watching the game.
She’ll take a few cute pics for Instagram and Snapchat, but she won’t be on her phone for the entire game because she’ll actually be watching it. Same goes for watching the game at home, she actually wants to watch it and will cheer along with you. No need to give up football Sunday’s with the boys when you can bring your girl with you.
She already has a lot in common with you.
If you’re a fan of the same sports team or sport in general, you already have a lot in common with someone. This is a great start to a relationship because you already have a lot to talk about.
She looks super cute in a jersey.
Just an added bonus.
