Gregg Allman To Be Honored With Tribute At 2017 CMT Awards

Well deserved.

At the upcoming 2017 CMT Music Awards ceremony, the late Gregg Allman of the Allman Brothers Band will be honored with a tribute. According to USA Today, Jason Aldean, Lady A‘s Charles Kelley, Darius Rucker and others will contribute to  the tribute.

CMT President Brian Philips said in a statement that the tribute is coming together because so many artists came to him asking that one be put together.

“This tribute will celebrate Gregg Allman’s soul, charisma and enduring artistry,” Philips says.

Gregg Allman passed away May 27 at the age of 69. The 2017 CMT Music Awards will take place in Nashville on June 7 and air live on CMT.
