It’s Here: Listen To Scotty McCreery’s Career-Changing Song, “Five More Minutes”

Scotty McCreery just released his new single, the much-talked-about “Five More Minutes.” I had the chance to chat with Scotty and he told me this song was a long time in the making. Scotty, along with his co-writers Frank Rogers and Monty Criswell rewrote the song “3 or 4 times to get it just right.”

The contractual issues surrounding McCreery and his American Idol win are finally in the rear view mirror, allowing Scotty more free reign to release the music he wants to release. As he told me, “there’s finally no strings attached.”

Scotty emphasized his new music is full of “honesty” and a song like “Five More Minutes” is the perfect vehicle for that. The premise centers around some “sad thoughts, and longing, but good memories.” This song pushes and pulls you in every direction. It’s going to go #1, we’ve been saying this for about 6 months ever since our post of his Opry performance went viral.

It’s a good day to have a song like this for country music.

Whiskey Riff is the most entertaining country site…ever.
