I’ll come right out and say it, spring break is all about getting your drink on. As we know most of you like to drink your whiskey straight, it can’t hurt to switch it up this year. Strawberry whiskey lemonade not only sounds delicious, but it tastes like we’re somewhere on a beach, even if we’re not.
Ready to get started? Let’s go…
What you’ll need:
1 cup sliced strawberries
½ cup sugar
¼ cup water
⅓ cup strawberry simple syrup
⅔ cup whiskey
⅔ cup lemon juice
(optional) fresh strawberries and lemon slices, for garnish
5 simple steps:
Mix together strawberries, sugar, and water in a small saucepan over low heat.
Bring strawberry mixture to a low simmer and cook, stirring occasionally, until strawberries have softened and sugar has dissolved, about 15 minutes. Remove saucepan from the heat and let it cool for 10-15 minutes.
Strain syrup into a bowl or measuring cup through a mesh strainer to remove the strawberry pieces.
In a large shaker, combine simple syrup, whiskey, and lemon juice. Add ice and shake.
Pour whiskey lemonade into glasses and garnish! Enjoy!
