Real Country Folks Will Get Something Out Of Morgan Wallen’s Heatin’ Up Single “The Way I Talk”

“Folks know I’m country when they hear the way I talk”.

If you were raised up country, you know it’s a completely different way of livin’, and it’s true… it definitely comes out when you hear the way we talk. A verse that Morgan Wallen sings, in particular really sticks out to me, “Man it ain’t my fault, I just live the way I talk”. I honestly wish more people would live that way as well.

It’s got a touch of the town where I grew up
Somethin in it them California girls love
Some people like to make a little fun of
The way I talk

It gets slower after 3 or 4 cold beers
Gets louder when I’m cheerin’ on the Volunteers
Folks know I’m country, when they hear
The way I talk

It sounds a little bit like my daddy I don’t cuss around my mamma
Got some words ya never heard less you come from down yonder
the man up stairs gets it, so I ain’t tryin to fix it
Nah I can’t hide it I don’t fight it I just roll with it
Oh, kinda slow like a Mississippi rose
It’s the only way I know
Man it ain’t my fault
I just live the way I talk

Yeah, it’s yes sir no ma’am ya’ll come on back now
Fightin words if ya run my last name down
I ain’t ashamed, matter fact I’m damn proud
of the way I talk

It sounds a little bit like my daddy I don’t cuss around my mamma
Got some words ya never heard less you come from down yonder
the man up stairs gets it, so I ain’t tryin to fix it
Nah I can’t hide it I don’t fight it I just roll with it
Oh, kinda slow like a Mississippi rose
It’s the only way I know
Man it ain’t my fault
I just live the way I talk

Slow, like a Sunday mornin service back home
Shoot ya straight even if it rubbed ya wrong
If ya know me ya know

I sound a little bit like my daddy I don’t cuss around my mamma
Got some words ya never heard less you come from down yonder
the man up stairs gets it, so I ain’t tryin to fix it
I got the Chevy and the country girl to go with it
Oh, kinda slow like a Mississippi rose
It’s the only way I know
Man it ain’t my fault
I just live the way I talk
The way I talk

I know y’all get it, and it’s definitely relatable. Don’t be ashamed of who you are and how you were raised. Your momma, dad, and family raised you to be damn good country folk. Be proud of that.
