It may sound silly, but country music has seriously impacted my life in so many ways. I don’t write it, I don’t sing it (well I do, but not professionally or very well), I just live by it. I will never understand why people say they don’t like it… personally, I don’t think they have given it enough of a chance.
Ever since I can remember, music has always been a great outlet for me. Although I am a fan of just about every genre, country music has done the most for me. Country music has gotten me through some of the hardest times, and some of the best times. When ever I turn on the radio and country music come through the speakers, I can’t help but sing along. The happiness that comes with this type of music is something special.
There is not just one type of county music. Some songs are slow, while others are upbeat… some are lighthearted, while others can reach deep inside your soul. I can thank country music for teaching me morals, what I deserve, and how to live life the right way. After listening, there is always something you can take away… it’s just about as real as it gets.
Country music is what you can listen to when you are feeling any type of emotion. When the unavoidable blues hit, I can turn on a slow, sad song and wallow as much as I want in my feelings. Or if I need to man up, and just get over it I can turn on a power song that will turn any sadness right into fire. If you’re happy, country music has a perfect song for you. If you are angry, country music has got your back. If you are in love, country music has the perfect tune you can walk down that aisle to. There has honestly never been a time country music hasn’t been there for me, and there’s never a time it won’t be there for you too.
Some of the most special, and unique things about country music are the genuine stories the lyrics bring. It just amazes me how much meaning is behind each and every line. There’s ones about the hurting, the healing, the loving, the heartbroken, the wild, the strong, the dreamers, the wise… and the list is infinite. Every singer and songwriter have a message to give and country music lets the world know. No matter who you are or where you are in life, young or old, lost or found, there is a song that you can relate to.
Country music is real people, making music about real things. It doesn’t get much better. The passion, the stories… everything that is country music, it can save a soul.
