It shouldn’t be that hard though and Justin Moore has the ultimate piece of advice for all of you who are sitting there contemplating making a move.
Take a listen to his new song “Somebody Else Will,” remember these points and you’ll be good to go.
1. Get liquid courage if you need it.
“Been sittin’ here tippin’ back Crown Straight // Workin’ up the nerve and the words to say”
If you’re in a bar or a place where alcohol is served, have a few drinks and loosen up a bit. Just don’t be “that guy.” If you don’t know what “that guy” means, you probably already are him. Sorry.
2. Don’t spend all night just staring at her.
“To turn those eyes and that smile my way // No time to waste.”
Don’t sit there all night staring at her and throw out some desperate line as she’s walking out the door. Make your move early or your night will be ruined.
3. It IS a competition.
“Every guy here wants to make a move // I better make a move”
She didn’t come here to see you and she’s not waiting around for you either. You need to beat every other guy in the room with the same thing on his mind. Be a winner.
4. Somebody is going to be her man. You could be that guy.
“Somebody else will if I don’t // Walk up and ask you your name right now”
What do you have to lose? The absolute worst thing that can happen is that she is not interested and you are in the same exact position as you were before, except now you don’t have to deal with the regret of not opening your mouth. If you don’t, somebody else will. Might as well be you.
5. She wants you to!
“Somebody gonna get to know you // If I don’t get there and sweep you off your feet”
Granted she’s single and ready to mingle, most women (and men) are out to find their special someone. Years later you are going to tell everyone how you couldn’t take your eyes off of her and you walked up like a boss and swept her right off her feet. If you’re not telling that story, somebody else will.
