He’s young, talented and already gaining the praise of some of the top dogs in Nashville including Jason Aldean, Randy Houser and Justin Moore. His debut single “Southern Boy” also features ACM Entertainer of the Year and country music superstar Jason Aldean. Needless to say, Rager has had one helluva start to his country music career with only brighter days ahead.
I caught up with Jordan the other day to chat about what this whirlwind has felt like for him.
“I never thought I was going to get to say that I had a first single, much less have it with Jason. Everything came together at the right place at the right time. He was just as excited about the song as I was which made it really cool for me. It wasn’t something that just got put together.”
Interestingly enough, Jason Aldean’s father Barry is currently Jordan’s manager. The two met a while back and became friends before Jordan actually knew he was Aldean’s dad. A friendship turned into a business partnership and the rest was history. Enter Jason Aldean.
“Barry is pretty good about not telling people who his son is,” Jordan laughs. “We always joked about someday doing a song together, but it never felt serious to me. It all fell into place so perfectly and having someone the caliber of Jason on your first song is just really really cool.”
Here is just some of the praise he’s received from some of the industry’s heavy hitters: “I really think everyone’s going to love this kid.” says Jason Aldean. “I was really impressed with Jordan, he was up there like a seasoned vet without a band. He handled 5,000 people like he was riding a bicycle,” says Randy Houser. “I wish I had as much talent in my entire body as he has in his pinky. Whatever ‘IT’ is…he’s got it,” says tourmate Justin Moore.
“I owe a lot to Justin. Had it not been for him bringing me on tour, I wouldn’t have signed a record deal with Broken Bow and had this song. You don’t luck into those relationships too often. I’m blessed.”
As of right now, the Georgia native is wrapping up his debut album, of which he has written about 75 percent himself. The release is right around the corner along with an upcoming fall tour announcement.
“We don’t have a date, or a follow up single, or know exactly the process for going about releasing it, but we are done recording so it’s going to be sooner rather than later. There are also plans for a fall tour in the making, but I don’t think I can say the details just yet.”
