The Top 6 Performances From The 2016 ACM Awards

The 2016 ACM Awards were an unforgettable night of country music greatness. Chris Stapleton cleaned up, as he should have, Miranda kept her streak alive and Jason Aldean took home his first ever Entertainer of the Year award.

The performances, however, are always the highlight of the night. From Luke and Blake’s opening prank on Dierks, to Dolly Parton and Katy Perry’s hilarious duet, everyone brought their A game last night.

Here are the 6 that stuck out to me:

6. Chris Young And Cassadee Pope’s Duet

These two have some serious chemistry. They looked and sounded phenomenal. My only question is are they dating yet?

5. Kelsea Ballerini Stuns With New Single “Peter Pan”

Kelsea was absolutely stunning. After being crowned New Female Vocalist of the Year, Ballerini performed her new single “Peter Pan” and if this performance was any indication, Kelsea Ballerini will be competing for Top Female Vocalist by next year.

4. Eric Church’s “Record Year” Tribute

Eric’s tribute to David Bowie, Glenn Frey, Lemmy and Scott Weiland was perfect. It was unique, fit the song (Record Year) and served a bigger purpose than just entertainment. Also, nobody can touch Church when it comes to that chest-pounding intensity.

3. Little Big Town Is Joined By Trombone Shorty

Can we all agree that Jimi Westbrook and Karen Fairchild are the baddest couple in country music. Move over Tim & Faith, you’ve been dethroned.

2. Tim McGraw’s Inspiring “Humble & Kind”

Speaking of Tim, his performance of “Humble & Kind” was both, moving and inspiring. It’s good to see a performance with content that matters.

1. Chris Stapleton Performs “Fire Away”

There is talk that Stapleton was impregnating men with his incredible voice. They have yet to be confirmed, but holy shit, this guy is simply amazing.

Whiskey Riff is the most entertaining country site…ever.
