Star Wars Episode VII is still smashing the box office and I’m not going to lie, I love it.The series of nine movies, scheduled to span over 40 years, has been as iconic as any movie franchise in Hollywood history.
Naturally, that got me thinking about the cast of iconic country music stars, some of which have garnered careers for just as long. If country artists were Star Wars characters, who would they be? Would the so called “bro-country” artists be the dark side? Check it out.
Yoda: George Strait
The leader of the Jedi’s and the king of country music. They would be best friends.
Darth Vader: Luke Bryan
“Bro-country” poster boy, award winner and stadium filler, Luke Bryan is a powerhouse. Darth Vader, who began his life as Anakin Skywalker, was supposed to be the next Jedi powerhouse. Unfortunately, Anakin took his talents to the dark side.
Luke Skywalker: Chris Stapleton
The savior to the Jedi’s, Luke Skywalker was hero of the Star Wars saga. Who’s saving country music right now? Chris Stapleton.
Queen Amidala: Carrie Underwood
Carrie is the undisputed queen of country music. Wife material, mother and an electric performer, her and Queen Amidala are one in the same.
Han Solo: Kip Moore
Scruffy looking with a rebellious spirit of baddass swagger. You can’t even tell me who I’m referring to right now. Luke got the glory, but everyone knows Han is the star of the show.
Darth Maul: Sam Hunt
Darth Maul was the first Sith lord to introduce the double-sided lightsaber into the Star Wars universe, much like one of the first artists to introduce hip-hop and R&B into country music. Like it or not, they both changed the game.
Chewbacca: Jaren Johnston
Chewbacca was Han Solo’s hairy side kick. Jaren is Kip’s hairy buddy and going to be on the road with him early next year. It’s really quite perfect.
The Emperor: Jason Aldean
Perhaps one of the main artists in the behind the start of the “bro-country” movement meets the architect behind the Imperial Empire. His buddy and apprentice? None other than Darth Luke Bryan.
Princess Leia – Miranda Lambert
Princess Leia was a badass that could handle herself and knew her way around a blaster. Miranda is hands down the baddest woman in country music.
Obi Wan Kenobi – Dierks Bentley
A steady leader in the Jedi community and the rock solid people’s champ of country music. Both the epitome of greatness. Both class acts.
R2-D2/ C-3PO – Florida Georgia Line
Have you ever seen Florida Georgia Line perform live? That duo has unreal energy and chemistry, just like a couple of droids I know. R2 and 3PO never turn off and neither do Tyler and BK.
Whiskey Riff is the most entertaining country site…ever.
