16-Year-Old Battling Cancer Sings Stunning “Fight Song” At Benefit For Pediatric Cancer Patient

Calysta Bevier is a 16-year-old sophomore at Ohio’s Otsego High School who has been fighting a rare form of ovarian cancer for several months. According to Toledo, Ohio’s ABC13, doctors found a four-pound dysgerminoma — a germ cell tumor — in Bevier’s ovaries earlier this year, requiring the cheerleader and dancer to undergo chemotherapy over the summer.

Despite the diagnosis, Calysta has tried to stay positive.

“I try to stay pretty positive,” she told ABC13. “The hardest part was losing my hair, but now that it’s gone everyone is like ‘You look so good bald,’ so it doesn’t bother me too much. It kind of distracts me from the negative parts of everything so all the support has helped me stay positive.”

Nowhere is her positive attitude more evident than in her stunning performance of Rachel Platten’s “Fight Song” that she dedicated to her father, a Toledo firefighter, at a recent benefit for Thane Wooley, another pediatric cancer patient, who, according to theFulton County Expositor, was diagnosed with neuroblastoma when he was just 4 years old.

Her cover of “Fight Song” will leave you speechless.
