Eric has a new exhibit at the Country Music Hall of Fame titled “Eric Church: Inside The Outside,” which showcases the career to this point of the modern day country outlaw.
There’s a lot of cool stuff featured at the exhibit, but one really sticks out, and it involves Taylor Swift. To be specific, it’s a signed Taylor Swift Gold Record from 2006.
In 2006, Church was kicked off the Rascal Flatts tour for repeatedly playing too long and breaking rules. Who took his place? A 16-year-old by the name of Taylor Swift. She just released her debut album, and Church told her that she owed him her first gold record. She made good on his playful demand.
“Eric, Thanks for playing too long on the Flatts tour,” she wrote in the framed display. “I SINCERELY appreciate it. Hahaha. Love you! Taylor.”
It’s safe to say two mega-stars were born when Eric left that tour…
