15 years ago a NYC man named Neil Rodriguez adopted an 8-week-old dog from a shelter and named him Poh.

When veterinarians told Neil that Poh is suffering from multiple tumors and kidney failure, he resolved to take his old friend on one last adventure.

The trip is documented on Poh’s Instagram account, PohtheDogsBigAdventure.

“They were like, we can’t tell you [how much time he has left] but you could have days. He could be gone any day,” said Neil.

Neil is a DJ and had a a gig scheduled in Arizona back in March. Knowing that Poh could be gone any day, he and his fiancée packed up for a road drip that took them South until cutting West across Georgia and along the Mexican border.

Poh was doing remarkably well once they reached Arizona so the owners decided to continue the adventure up through California to Seattle, Washington.

Now back in NYC, Neil estimated that they drove 12,000 miles and stopped at 35 cities. Three months after the initial visit to the vet and Poh is still alive with high spirits.

The adventure continues…
