One Must-Listen Song From Every Artist Karen Fairchild Named During CMT’s Artists Of The Year

This past Wednesday night, CMT stepped up in a big way to address the gender disparity problem in country music by exclusively naming women their 2018 “Artists of the Year.” With the conversation being mostly that, conversation, it was great to see someone finally do something about it. Props to CMT, but it didn’t end there…

While the night specifically honored Carrie Underwood, Miranda Lambert, Maren Morris, Kelsea Ballerini, Hillary Scott, and the ladies of Little Big Town, Karen Fairchild took the opportunity to included as many female artists as possible.

During her mic-drop speech, she named 35 other female country artists that you should be listening to, while also admitting to not even scratching the surface of all the talented women there are in country music.

If you missed it, watch the powerful moment below.

We didn’t even scratch the surface of all the talented rising (female) artists in country music right now. Tagging everyone we can think of so you can check them out.
