If you’re anything like just about everybody else in the country music world, you may be wondering who the fuck is Bebe Rexha and why the hell is the first woman to debut at #1 on the Billboard Hot Country chart?
Well, she’s a pop singer that currently has a hot duet with Florida Georgia Line right now, making her the first woman ever to receive the distinction. Only “Forever Country” by Artists of Then, Now & Forever and “My Baby’s Got a Smile on Her Face” by the Season 7 winner of NBC’s The Voice, Craig Wayne Boyd have debuted at #1.
Other have claimed that Carrie debuted at #1 with “Inside Your Heaven,” however that topped the Billboard Hot 100 chart, not the Hot Country Songs chart.
Just found out I’m officially the first female in the history of Country music to debut at #1 on the country billboard charts. 🙏🏼😳😌🙏🏼

The point is that people are pissed and probably have good reason to be. In an industry where many great women of country music struggle to get recognition or even radio play, a pop singer can collaborate with FGL and immediately spring to the top of the charts. I don’t have a problem with the song really, it just pours a fuck-load of salt in the wound to see country music history being made like this.
