Faith Hill Opens Up About Her Adoption And Her Birth Mother’s History

In a recent interview with Billboard, Faith Hill is opening up about a personal part of her past. Some may know that Faith was adopted by her parents Edna and Ted when she was very young. They always claimed that her birth mother put her up for adoption because “she’d had an affair with a married man.”

“I used to think there was some kind of conspiracy, that I must be the daughter of one of my aunts. And of course I used to dream I was Elvis’ daughter,” Hill told Billboard. “I didn’t know anyone I was related to, biologically, which gives you a sense of not knowing who you are.”

Hill later finds out that the claims about her birth mother were untrue, her mother did not give her up because of an affair. In the candid interview, she explains that in her 20s, she moved to Nashville and began to look for her birth mother. After locating her, she finds out she was a professional painter. They did not end up becoming too close and her mother passed away in 2007.

Luckily, she had husband Tim McGraw through all of this. Read more of the interview here.
